Last evening’s Grammy Awards 2020 was another elevating fashion exhibit, with mind-blowing signature looks, appropriate to celebrate music’s biggest night of the year. As any music industry awards show, the stars were expected to pull out their boldness and uniqueness. So this year’s red carpet was everything between chic and badass. Overall, a rollercoaster of style. From safe to crazy – we’ve seen some pretty awesome looks. Here’s some of our favourites:
- Billie Eilish in Gucci
Billie Eilish arrived at the 2020 Grammy Awards on Sunday looking like money both figuratively and literally. The 18-year-old singer and nominee wore a head-to-toe green Gucci outfit consisting of bedazzled, logo-emblazoned separates layered over a sequin long-sleeve turtleneck. Styled by Samantha Burkhart, the edgy outfit was complemented by metallic sneakers, fingerless gloves, tiny sunglasses, and gold hoop earrings.
We wouldn’t have thought it would be easy to stick to her unique set of style preferences and come out red-carpet ready, but Gucci came through for her. She got the shape and the style she likes to wear, with the glam factor bumped up and an absolutely killer manicure to finish it off.
- Ariana Grande in Giambattista Valli and Schiaparelli
Ariana Grande arrived in a huge-skirted Giambattista Valli number, serving up high-princess fantasy with a smokey ombre undertone. Her first dress, which was custom Giambattista Valli, included layers upon layers of gray tulle. She paired it with opera-length gloves and her signature high ponytail, which she appears to have dyed blonde for the occasion. Next up, the “thank u, next” star switched into a similarly dramatic gray two-piece ensemble by Schiaparelli, telling reporters that she couldn’t decide on which dress to wear, so she wore them both.
- Shaun Ross wore top-to-bottom pearls.
The 28-year-old model makes heads turn with his eye-catching design, which features an explosion of pearls wrapped all over his coat, pants and boots. Not only was his white jacket covered in the gems, but so were his pants, shoes, shirt, and earrings.
- Jameela Jamil in Georges Chakra
In a brilliant blue metallic with a slightly futuristic vibe and a case of skirtus interruptus (look, if you can come up with a better term for when a skirt pauses for a bit before continuing, we’re willing to hear it), the star of The Good Place landed a dress that looks great and a little weird at the same time. Perfect for a night like tonight.
- Alessandra Ambrosio In Balmain
The right side of her outfit was black and styled like a dress. The left side, however, was white, strapless, and cut off at her thighs.
Alessandra Ambrosio strikes a fierce pose on the red carpet as she arrives at the 2020 Grammy Awards. The 38-year-old former Victoria’s Secret Angel bared one of her incredibly fit legs in a black and white ensemble as she stepped out for the awards show.
- Rosalía in Alexander Wang
The 26-year-old El Mal Querer entertainer hit the red carpet wearing a leather dress with long sleeves and a fringe skirt. Before the show began, Rosalía walked the red carpet in a powerful look. The artist wore a belted red leather dress, the bottom made of fringe, and the belt truly unique and eye-catching. The best part, however, were her nails. Talk about iconic!
- FKA Twigs in Ed Marler
Wearing a gothic-looking Edmarler dress, FKA Twigs looked edgy, chic, and sexy. The star’s gown featured a thigh-high slit that drew everyone’s attention.
She lived up to her fashion icon status in a pink riding cape and embroidered catsuit combo that delivered full on fantasy. Her dress also had short sleeves and a thigh-high slit, which revealed the lace bodysuit she wore underneath.
